FRATI F.2500

TYPE: Twin-turboprop transport.

PROGRAMME: Under development in early 2003; derived from unbuilt F.3000 twin-turbofan commuter airliner.

DESIGN FEATURES: High wing; swept fin/rudder with dorsal fillet. Cabin section is square with constant frame size throughout length. Intended to meet FAR Pt 25 certification criteria. Design goals include STOL characteristics combined with adequate cruising speed and ease of manufacture in countries with limited aeronautical manufacturing experience.
Wing section NACA 63.

LANDING GEAR: Retractable tricycle type. Single wheel on each main unit; main units retract into small sponsons.

POWER PLANT: Two 1,864 kW (2,500 shp) Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-65R turboprops. Fuel contained in integral tanks in wings outboard of engines.

ACCOMMODATION: Crew of two and 19 passengers in three-abreast 2+1 configuration, with overhead baggage bins; lavatory standard. Crew door at front of cabin, passenger door at rear, both on port side. Seven cabin windows on each side. In cargo configuration cabin can accommodate up to nine different types of container. Rear loading ramp with integral electrically driven winch to facilitate loading/unloading of cargo. Cockpit and cabin, or just cockpit, could be pressurised.
